The Darkheart Coven and The Pack of Cyrene

The tale of the Darkheart Coven and the Pack of Cyrene. What could cause two Azerothian clans to end up taking sides and holding blades to each others throats when the time called for unity? Simple. An arranged marriage gone awry.

Back before the human kingdoms had formed, there were two clans of elves hidden deep within the forests of both Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms. The first was called Thorpos, this was the clan that worshiped the ancients Cenarius and Goldrinn. The second was called Poraya, and they worshiped the ancients Avianna and Aessina. The two clans were often in diplomatic meetings as they were constantly disputing territorial issues. The Thorpos were always wandering the forests, hunting and learning from the animals they stalked. Whereas Poraya were often making homes within the tops of the trees and on the edges of cliffs, often training birds and other creatures that flew in the sky to aid in taking care of their crops (of which they shared a portion with the creatures). When rumors began to spread through the Elven kingdoms that the Burning Legion was going to be upon the world, the two clans decided they needed to join together. The two clans picked one heir to join in union. From the Thorpos, they sent Myaendris, the eldest son of the pack leaders Iyleraes Silverrage (Father) and Yafrieth Duskdancer (Mother); From the Poraya, they sent Elisabith, daughter of the leaders Gahaethae Stoneforest (Father) and Jasalleas Amberstar (Mother). The two were meant to meet in a clearing, just past the forest that the Thorpos hunted in. Unknowingly, there was a trapped laid there by a jealous woman from the Thorpos pack. She had given Myaendris a special drink to share with his soon-to-be bride and himself. Grateful, he accepted it willingly. He left to go hunt and gather a pelt of a wolf for Elisabith. When he got to the clearing, she was being escorted by her eldest brother and his friends. The men went to wait in the woods for the two to finish, but as Elisabith put the glass to her lips she smelled something off about it and stopped, while Myaedris continued to drink. It wasn't until after he had finished his drink that he realized what it was. His ears turned to that of the wolf he had slain, his eyes turned blood red and he lunged for the woman's throat with ferocious claws. Her brother, Demitrii, upon seeing the sudden feral movement, pulled out his crossbow and shot the boy in the back. As the blood of his body splattered the girls gown and the grass below, a curse was placed upon her and turned her purple skin ashen gray and fangs appeared from her canines. Her throat was dry and she craved for the blood that had been spilled but she quickly ran away. When news returned that Myaedris was killed, the Thorpos was enraged and a war broke out between the two clans. The Thorpos renamed themselves the Pack of Cyrene and began worshiping Goldrinn (Even after he turned into Lycanthoth) heavily, sacrificing their hunts and becoming feral like creatures. After the sundering, the Poraya suffered much given that their leaders had been assassinated and the heirs were left hidden with only Elisabith left to lead them, they became known as the Darkheart Coven. Now as the enemies come after the Crystals of Durnamis, their war grows far more dire as the Pack of Cyrene sides with the enemies, the Darkheart Coven follow the daughter of Elisabith in siding with the Crystal Bearers.
